HART CONTRACTING, INC. SINKS TEETH INTO NEW ADDITION
AT SIU DENTAL SCHOOL
ALTON, IL -- (MAY 2, 2005) -- Hart Contracting, Inc. recently began construction on the Advanced Care Wing at the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. The new construction will add approximately 6,000 square feet to the school’s main clinic and will be comprised of a new classroom, a pediatric dentistry bay, and a total of 24 “operatories” in which students will learn in a state-of-the-art dentist’s office environment.
“We are elated to work with SIU,” said Hank Hart, General Manager of Hart Contracting, Inc. “On this project, the details are critically important because of the building’s dual purposes as an educational facility and as a provider of dental care. Once completed, the Advanced Care Wing at the SIU School of Dental Medicine will be a premier facility for both purposes.”
Trivers Associates, an award-winning architecture, planning and design firm, was the architect for the project, and Hurst-Rosche Engineers, Inc was contracted to do the cabinetry work. Both projects are estimated to cost $2 million, and Hart Contracting expects to be completed by the end of December 2005. The SIU School of Dental Medicine is the only dental school within 250 miles of the St. Louis Metro Area and the only Illinois dental school outside of Cook County.
